Facial skin care after using the mask

We all know that it is necessary to wear our mask, as it helps to protect ourselves and those around us. However, there is a possibility that you may experience some skin discomfort in areas covered by the mask such as dryness, skin irritation or even acne. But what is the solution since it is necessary to wear a mask?

Below you will find useful and quick tips, but also a homemade face mask with oats that will help you avoid irritation.

1) Select the appropriate mask:
The choices for masks are innumerable, and many of them are very imaginative. In any case, you should make sure to choose a mask with a comfortable fit and made of breathable material. Not all fabrics are the same: materials such as polyester can trap sweat, cause irritation and trigger acne. The choice of fabric plays an important role, especially if there is a tendency for acne. You should prefer cotton masks, which help absorb sweat and allow the skin to breathe. Remember that you should not reuse your mask without washing it, to prevent germs and bacteria from spreading. Change and wash your mask regularly, as this will reduce skin irritation throughout the day.

2) Prepare your skin before wearing your mask:
Before wearing the mask, you should use a moisturizing face cream to properly moisturize the skin. Look for a cream with ingredients such as chamomile and aloe vera, which are known for their soothing and moisturizing properties. Moisturizing can help prevent irritation of your skin. It would also be ideal to avoid intense and greasy makeup that prevents the pores from breathing. If you want to wear makeup, choose makeup products with ingredients such as titanium dioxide, which are easily absorbed by the skin.

3) Treat your skin after using the mask:
After a whole day with a mask, take care of your skin with moisturizing products without Sulfates. Sulfates are factors that affect the structure of lipids in the outer layer of the skin and cause irritation. When you take off your mask, do not forget to wash your face with a mild cleanser with moisturizing cleansing ingredients, which help remove dirt and oil from your skin. Avoid hot water, as its use irritates and dehydrates your skin which is already sensitive, it is better to use lukewarm water to avoid further irritation. Finally, use a moisturizer that contains antioxidants and essential oils, which restore and soothe your skin.

If you experience severe dryness, irritation or itching, you can also make a moisturizing mask.

You will need three simple materials:
• 3 tablespoons oats
• 2 tablespoons Herbalife Aloe Soothing Gel
• 1 tablespoon honey

 

Instructions for use: Boil the oats with 2 tablespoons of water in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds. Remove from the microwave and add 2 tablespoons Herbalife Aloe Soothing Gel and 1 tablespoon honey. Allow the oats to cool and then apply on the face, preferably with a face brush. Leave the mask on for 15 to 20 minutes. Oats and honey are famous for their moisturizing properties and Herbalife Aloe Soothing Gel contains soothing ingredients that soothe the skin. Complete the application of the mask by rinsing your face thoroughly with warm water and a mild cleanser without Sulfates.
